We are pleased to share that the director of our Center, Professor Jason Corburn, will be Guest Editor of ‘Urbanization and health: Addressing key challenges,’ the newly launched Collection from the academic journal BMC Global and Public Health.Today, more than half of all people worldwide live in urban areas, up from just one-third in 1950 and projected to reach two-thirds by 2050. With more and more of our lives taking place in cities, our health must be understood and addressed within the context of the cities where we live.The Collection, now open for submissions, will focus on how urban environments shape our health and wellbeing, showcasing emerging ideas, strategies, and areas for change that may better our increasingly city-dwelling lives.
