Informal Settlements Upgrading

Informal Settlements

Our research on Informal Settlements Upgrading aims to advance the understanding the health hazards that exist in urban informal settlements (sometimes called slums) globally. We strive to center community expertise to co-create solutions that enable the urban poor to remain in their settlements when it is safe and access essential/ life-supporting services. The CGHC also works to contribute to to on-going policy making at the city, national, and global scales to improve the lives and living conditions of those living in urban informal settlements.
